Since 2012, at the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology, Neurology and Medical Psychology of the Faculty of Medicine V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, under the guidance of MD, professor Ponomaryov V.I. is organized The work of the Student Scientific Society (SSS). The scientific supervisor of the circle is associate professor of the department Vovk V.I.
The work of students in the SSS is to participate in the meetings of the student scientific circle held by the staff of the department both in the university’s classrooms with the demonstration of multimedia presentations and acquaintance with theoretical questions of modern problems of neurology, psychiatry, narcology, psychology, and at the clinical bases of the department with demonstration and analysis of clinical cases. Thanks to close cooperation with the medical institutions of the city, students have the opportunity to get acquainted with the clinical work, participate in clinical analysis in the KUZZ “Kharkov Regional Clinical Drug Treatment Hospital”, Academic Pavlova street, 46; KUZZ «Kharkov city psychoneurological dispensary № 3», Alchevsky, 32 st.; IZDPP of the National Medical Academy of Ukraine, av. 50th anniversary of the Komsomol, 52a; VICC of the Northern region (military hospital), Cultures, 5; Department of Psychiatry, KhMAPO, ul. Academician Pavlova, 46; Central Design Bureau No. 5, trans. Balakirev, 5; Department of Psychotherapy. Balakirev, 5. In total, more than 100 meetings of the student scientific circle have been held at the moment of the functioning of the SSS. As a result of practical work, students prepared and presented oral reports and abstracts at conferences and congresses both domestic (including international) and conducted abroad (Turkey, France, Great Britain, Portugal, India, etc.), Where the participants of the SSS chair occupied honorary prizes, which is confirmed by the corresponding certificates and diplomas. The main results of this clinical experience students participating in the SSS publish in the form of articles in domestic and foreign scientific publications. Also, students who demonstrate excellent performance in studies and scientific activities take part in the All-Ukrainian Students’ Olympiad in the disciplines “Psychiatry and Narcology” and “Medical Psychology”.
Participation in the Student Scientific Society of the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology, Neurology and Medical Psychology enables students – future doctors and scientists – to plunge into the medical and scientific world, as well as receive a recommendation for further studies in magistracy, clinical residency, postgraduate study.
Every student can become a m ember of the Student Scientific Society of the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology, Neurology and Medical Psychology. The condition of cooperation is the work on scientific research projects in the field of neuroscience. Within the framework of the circle activity there are several sections: psychiatry, neurology, medical psychology, psychotherapy, narcology.

We are open to international cooperation, the main direction of which is the study of topical issues of neuroscience. We invite students from different faculties, universities interested in modern achievements of psychoneurology and ready to participate in research aimed at studying and improving the methods of diagnosis, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation of patients with psychoneurological profile.
